Our first episode focuses on “The Plains Indians: Artists of Earth and
Sky” at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Lauren Chief Elk is a
Nakoda/Lakota writer, data artist, and co-founder of the Save Wiyabi
Project. Co-Produced by Line Break Media (linebreakmedia.org) and
Shamsiya Group, Inc. (intosunshine.com)
This video is an incredibly edifying exploration of museum-based art appreciation, and different ways to orient yourself towards art and history depending on your own identity and personal experiences. I was incredibly excited to see this, and the content did not disappoint in any way.
You can see some artworks and information from the exhibit here.
